RENO, NV — Nevada’s Senate matchup is confirmed: Reproductive freedom champion Sen. Jacky Rosen will face off against Sam Brown, who has already tried to manipulate voters about his anti-abortion record. Nevada Advocates for Planned Parenthood Affiliates PAC (NAPPA PAC) executive director Lindsey Harmon issued the following statement in response:

“The difference between Sen. Jacky Rosen and Sam Brown could not be clearer. While Sen. Rosen was fighting for Nevadans’ reproductive freedom, Sam Brown has been working to eliminate abortion access. He’s tried to hide his record, but Nevadans see the truth: We can’t trust a candidate so deeply committed to eliminating abortion rights. Make no mistake, Sam Brown will vote for a national abortion ban if elected to the Senate. The race for U.S. Senate in Nevada is a critical battle for reproductive freedom, and Planned Parenthood Nevada Votes is ready for this fight. When Nevada voters decide, reproductive freedom always wins.”

The race for U.S. Senate in Nevada could make the difference between a Senate that works to pass national abortion protections or a conservative-led Senate that pushes a federal ban on abortion. Nevadans must reelect Jacky Rosen to protect abortion access in Nevada and across the country.

Sam Brown cannot be trusted with Nevadans’ reproductive freedom. Just look at the facts.

  • For over a decade, Sam Brown has supported abortion bans, and he’s said that his anti-abortion position is “non-negotiable.” He’s said that abortion should be banned even in cases of rape and incest and has backed extreme bans as recently as his 2022 Senate run and as early as his 2014 run for the Texas legislature.
  • Sam Brown supported efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade and said he would only confirm anti-abortion Supreme Court justices and federal judges.
  • Sam Brown is allied with the same conservative interest groups that are stacking our courts and undermining our fundamental rights. He previously served as chairman of the Nevada Faith and Freedom Coalition, which has backed a national abortion ban, and he was spotted at Nevada Right to Life’s annual gala.
