WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tim Sheehy, the top Republican vying for the chance to represent Montana in the United States Senate, is already trying to manipulate voters and hide his real views on IVF and abortion.

He might try to claim that he supports IVF, but this self-described “very pro-life person” will take any opportunity to undermine access — not only to IVF, but birth control and abortion as well. Just this March, Sheehy refused to pledge support for federal IVF protections. But just like other Republicans across the country, he’s read the polls (and guidance from the National Republican Senatorial Committee) and is now telling voters something else entirely.

Sheehy’s was the very first endorsement announced this cycle by SBA Pro-Life America, which requires its picks to support a national abortion ban and lobbies against IVF protections. He might be dodging questions in public about his abortion stance, but one thing is clear: Sheehy cannot be trusted to protect Montanans’ reproductive freedom.

“Our leaders should be focused on protecting Montanans from government interference in their most personal healthcare decisions, but Tim Sheehy is determined to eliminate our reproductive freedom,” said Quinn Leighton, spokesperson for Planned Parenthood Votes in Montana. “Given the chance, he will support a national abortion ban and undermine care like IVF and birth control that thousands of Montanans rely on to plan their families' futures. Voters must see through the political games that Tim Sheehy is playing with their bodies and lives.”
