Washington, DC — Planned Parenthood Advocates for DC, Maryland & NoVa (PPADMV) is proud to announce endorsements for the 2024 general election in the District of Columbia’s citywide races.

PPADMV Executive Director Erin Bradley says:

“Right now, DC faces one of the most critical moments in its history. Despite widespread opposition to bans on abortion and gender-affirming care, attacks on these basic rights continue to mount. Without statehood, DC is uniquely vulnerable, and some legislators have called for further interference in our self-governance. This election, DC residents must seize every opportunity to protect themselves and those they love. Anti-abortion extremists have pursued their cruel agenda through all means available to them, including exploiting the judicial system. Now, the people of DC must prove at the polls that we will not be cowed into submission. The candidates we are endorsing today will help DC safeguard our rights and protect our communities.”

Candidates endorsed by Planned Parenthood Advocates for DC, Maryland, & NoVa include:

Councilmember Robert White (At-large)

“Councilmember White is committed to protecting, prioritizing, and recognizing the right to bodily autonomy in law in Washington, DC. Thus far in his career, he introduced and passed legislation to protect health care professionals who provide reproductive health services, which is especially important in this tense political climate. We proudly endorse Councilmember Robert White for Councilmember At-Large!”

–Erin Bradley, PPADMV executive director

Councilmember Brooke Pinto (Ward 2)

“During her time as a DC Councilmember, Brooke Pinto has been a champion of health care equity and reproductive health care. We are excited for her to continue to protect reproductive health service providers and explore health care policies that aid low-income residents. We proudly endorse Brooke Pinto for DC Council Ward 2!”

–Erin Bradley, PPADMV executive director

Ankit Jain for DC Shadow Senator

“As a native of the DMV, Ankit Jain is aware of the difficulties faced by DC residents in their fight for state status and understands how this impacts reproductive health care. We are thrilled to know that Candidate Jain unapologetically supports DC home rule and repealing the Dornan Amendment. We proudly endorse Ankit Jain for DC Shadow Senator!”
–Erin Bradley, PPADMV executive director
