COLUMBUS, Ohio — In response to Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno’s recent commentswhich demeaned suburban women as “single-issue voters” and claimed women over fifty have no stake in reproductive rights, Lauren Blauvelt, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio, released the following statement:

“Bernie Moreno’s dismissive rhetoric reveals just how disconnected he is from the real concerns of everyday Ohioans. Suggesting women over fifty no longer care about reproductive rights and labeling the 57% of voters who supported enshrining abortion access in our state constitution as ‘crazy’ is not only offensive, it’s dangerous. Ohioans of all ages deserve the right to make their own healthcare decisions without political interference. Senator Sherrod Brown believes that every person must be able to make their own decisions about their health – including reproductive care. Once reelected, Senator Brown will work tirelessly to pass a law to restore abortion access nationwide.”
