SCOTUS Decisions
This June, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) issued its ruling in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. U.S. Food and Drug Administration – the case challenging the FDA’s long-standing approval of mifepristone. They ruled that mifepristone remains available for now in states where abortion is legal.
This cruel, unprecedented attempt to restrict access to abortion care nationwide had absolutely no basis in science or medicine. Mifepristone is extremely safe and effective and has been used by more than five million people since first approved over 20 years ago.
SCOTUS also issued its ruling in Idaho v. United States; Moyle v. United States, the case about whether emergency abortion care is included under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). The U.S. Supreme Court had the opportunity to be clear that this federal law requires emergency care for pregnant people, including abortion, in every state — regardless of a state’s abortion ban — and they chose not to. As a result, the health and lives of pregnant people across the country will continue to be at risk.
Make no mistake: SCOTUS unleashed a national reproductive health crisis when it overturned Roe v. Wade two years ago, and abortion opponents aren't stopping. Look below for ways to take action for abortion access today!

Ways to Take Action
Bans Off Our Bodies
Our country is facing an abortion access crisis.
The court has failed us.
The Supreme Court has ended our federal constitutional right to abortion and overturned Roe v. Wade — turning its back on nearly 50 years of precedent. The court has failed us all — especially Black, Latino, Indigenous, and other people of color who are disproportionately harmed by abortion bans due to this country's legacy of racism and discrimination.
Make no mistake — this decision goes beyond abortion. This wrongful ruling is about who has power over you, who has the authority to make decisions for you, and who can control how your future is going to be. It throws away nearly 50 years of precedent and goes against the will of the American people. But the Planned Parenthood Central Coast Action Fund and our partners were built for this. Together, we will fight until everyone has access to abortion — and the care they need.
