ST. LOUIS — Today, Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, the region’s leading provider for sexual and reproductive health care, announces its official renaming to Planned Parenthood Great Rivers (PPGR).
The new name reflects the organization’s broadened reach as a health care provider for cancer screenings, STI testing and treatment, contraception, gender-affirming health care, and more sexual and reproductive health services throughout the greater St. Louis area, Missouri Ozarks, and beyond, as well as abortion services at its health center in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Statement from Richard Muniz, interim President and CEO, Planned Parenthood Great Rivers:
“Our new name represents our longtime commitment to meeting patients where they are, in order to deliver high-quality and compassionate health care. We’re proud to provide care from Southwest Missouri to the greater St. Louis area and the broader region — having served patients from 48 states plus DC and counting.
“Like the rivers that run through our region and beyond, we are committed to connecting patients from near and far with high-quality sexual and reproductive health care. No matter what. Our name has changed; our dedication to providing patient-centered health care has not.”
The organization’s advocacy arm has also been updated to Planned Parenthood Great Rivers Action.
Patients can book health care services online at ppgr.org/book or by calling 314-531-7526.
