What Illinois Voters Need to Know:

It is crucial for voters to understand that Project 2025 represents a direct threat to reproductive freedom in Illinois. And there are anti-choice politicians dedicated to carrying out the extreme priorities of Project 2025 here in Illinois. The state's existing protections are at risk of being dismantled, endangering the health, safety, and rights of countless individuals.

Anti-choice politicians in Illinois have already made their agenda clear. In the last legislative session, anti-sexual and reproductive health care politicians have introduced bills that would dramatically limit access to essential health care. This includes the restriction on the use of mobile health care clinics, limiting access to abortion care later in pregnancy, and instituting burdensome waiting periods that could create barriers to timely care.

Each year, legislation is introduced that would repeal the Reproductive Health Act, the landmark legislation that ensured that abortion is a fundamental right in Illinois. If successful, it would dramatically alter the intentions of the Illinois public and shift Illinois from being a progressive state that values access to abortion into an anti-choice state that would align with national extremists that would be perusing a nationwide ban on access to abortion.

We urge Illinois voters to educate themselves about Project 2025 and its potential impacts on reproductive health care, especially when electing leaders in the Illinois General Assembly. Your vote in the upcoming elections could be pivotal in safeguarding or jeopardizing reproductive rights in our state.

53 total anti-choice, reproductive healthcare & LGBTQ+ bills were introduced in the 103rd General Assembly

25 introduced in the 2024 legislative session
