PP PA PAC celebrates endorsed candidate victories and asks pro-abortion voters to gear up for 2022

HARRISBURG, PA — On November 2, Pennsylvanians across the state voted in the general election — resulting in some exciting wins and big disappointments. PP PA PAC endorsed 21 candidates for the general election running for judicial, county and mayoral, and district attorney races.

In a historic win, Pittsburgh elected its first Black mayor, Ed Gainey! A sexual and reproductive health champion, Gainey brought in over 70% of the vote. PP PA PAC also celebrated eleven other endorsed candidate confirmed victories:

  • Wrenna Watson, Court of Common Pleas (Allegheny County)

  • Tiffany Sizemore, Court of Common Pleas (Allegheny County)

  • Tom Caulfield, Court of Common Pleas (Allegheny County)

  • Sabrina Korbel, Court of Common Pleas (Allegheny County)

  • Nicola Henry-Taylor, Court of Common Pleas (Allegheny County)

  • Lisa Middleman, Court of Common Pleas (Allegheny County)

  • Jessel Costa, Court of Common Pleas (Allegheny County)

  • Elliot Howsie, Court of Common Pleas (Allegheny County)

  • Chelsa Wagner, Court of Common Pleas (Allegheny County)

  • Bruce Beemer, Court of Common Pleas (Allegheny County)

  • David Bria, Yardley Borough Council

In statewide court races, anti-abortion judges defeated Maria McLaughlin and Timika Lane. In Erie County, Dr. Tyler Titus also conceded, after waiting for all votes to be counted.

“We are disappointed to have lost the opportunity to elect sexual and reproductive health champions to our statewide courts. Pennsylvanians deserve elected officials in every level of government that will represent them and understand their needs.” said Signe Espinoza, executive director of PP PA PAC. “Yet, we are hopeful this will encourage pro-abortion voters — there are no off years when it comes to voting to protect abortion access.”

PP PA PAC remains hopeful and eager to continue doing work to elect sexual and reproductive health care champions up and down the ballot.
