Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut (PPV!CT) proudly endorses 112 candidates running for the Connecticut General Assembly in the 2024 general election. This includes 28 candidates for the Senate and 84 for the House of Representatives, all committed to protecting and expanding access to reproductive health care, including abortion, across the state.

“This year, all the freedoms we’ve fought for are on the line. It’s critical that we elect state legislators who will defend the right to make personal health decisions and ensure that access to care remains protected for everyone,” said Amanda Skinner, President & CEO of Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut, “Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut will work tirelessly to ensure that voters know who they can trust to protect their health and rights. The 2024 election is our time to decide, and when we decide, we win.”

Connecticut has long been a leader in the fight for reproductive freedom, protecting abortion rights under state law since 1990 and, in 2022, modernizing legislation to enhance abortion access for patients while pioneering the nation’s first provider protection shield law. Despite increasing threats to reproductive rights across the country, PPV!CT’s legislative champions and the Lamont administration remain steadfast in protecting the health and rights of all people and they aren’t backing down.

"As we approach the November elections, voters know we're fighting for control of our bodies, our lives and our futures," said Gretchen Raffa, Vice President of Public Policy, Advocacy, and Organizing at Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut, "We must elect uncompromising leaders who support abortion access and are bold enough to defend our rights and uphold the protections we've worked so hard to secure, including the passage of the updated abortion regulation that will fully enact the Reproductive Freedom Defense Act (PA 22-19) of 2022.

PPV!CT’s endorsements were made after carefully considering the current political landscape, candidates’ records on reproductive health issues, and their commitment to expanding access to care in Connecticut. By electing these champions, we can keep Connecticut moving forward - not backwards - by continuing to fight for full reproductive freedom for all.
