Planned Parenthood Voters of Iowa supporters continue to call out Fiorina directly at events (photos below)

Carly Fiorina is so extreme when it comes to women’s health that she’s resorted to literally making things up to make a point.  Virtually every fact-checker has agreed that she is lying about Planned Parenthood, yet she continues to wronglyfocus her campaign on these blatant untruths.  Many cite this as a reason for her drop in the polls.

Fiorina’s false attack on Planned Parenthood is part of an anti-abortion agenda that is threatening access to basic, preventive reproductive health care for women across the country. This dangerous agenda could have a devastating impact on the 2.7 million men, women, and young people who rely on Planned Parenthood for STI testing, lifesaving cancer screenings, and birth control.

This weekend, while campaigning in Iowa, Fiorina tripled down on her Planned Parenthood lie.  Planned Parenthood Voters of Iowa (PPVI) supporters -- some of whom were patients -- were on hand at her events to call her out for her lie.

“Carly Fiorina is out of touch with what Iowans want. We know that  Iowans value the services that Planned Parenthood health centers provide despite relentless attempts to roll back access  to basic, preventive health care," said Suzanna de Baca, president of Planned Parenthood Voters of Iowa. "Ms. Fiorina's continued lies about Planned Parenthood, despite Fox News and every fact-checker refuting her claims, show her blatant disregard for the truth. How can we believe her when she says she cares about protecting women?”

Outside of Des Moines last Thursday, over 40 PPVI supporters attended a Fiorina fundraiser event to tell Fiorina the lying must stop. Some supporters were also were Planned Parenthood patients and spoke about what Planned Parenthood has meant to them.

“The facts are that Planned Parenthood offers essential preventive health services including STI testing, birth control and lifesaving cancer screenings," said a PPVI supporter who is also a Planned Parenthood patient.  "Planned Parenthood has been there for me and that is why I am standing up for them today.”

Fiorina had a town hall in Waterloo, IA, and again PPVI supporters were there to ask Fiorina if she is ready to admit that she is lying and to tell the truth about Planned Parenthood.

In Grinnell, IA, on Friday, more volunteers and supporters were on sight to ask Fiorina why she keeps lying.  One supporter asked her why she advocates for cutting off access to health care for thousands of low-income families who rely on Planned Parenthood for health care services.

In Iowa, Planned Parenthood helped serve over 37,000 patients at 13 health centers in 2013.

Nationally, Planned Parenthood provides 2.7 million women and men a year with critical reproductive health care -- such as cancer screenings, birth control, STI testing and treatment, and well-woman exams. More than half of Planned Parenthood health centers are in rural or medically underserved areas, meaning that without Planned Parenthood, many patients would literally have nowhere else to turn.
