WASHINGTON, D.C. — Esta semana, Nikki Haley le dijo a los votantes de Nuevo Hampshire que firmaría una prohibición federal del aborto. Tal como lo informa Associated Press “esto es lo más específica que ella ha sido en cuanto a su compromiso con esta prohibición federal, durante esta campaña presidencial”.

Aunque Haley se niega a hablar en concreto porque sabe que eso alejaría a los votantes, su historial es claro: Como gobernadora de Carolina del Sur, Haley firmó una prohibición del aborto sin excepciones para las víctimas de violación o incesto y vetó la financiación de centros de crisis por violación. Haley también celebró la decisión de la Corte Suprema de anular el caso Roe vs. Wade y el mes pasado le dijo a a un grupo antiaborto que cree que “el gobierno federal tiene un rol en el aborto”.

Todos los candidatos a la presidencia deben explicar a los votantes su postura —en detalle—sobre el derecho al aborto. Este miércoles, el candidato de Carolina del Sur Tim Scott dijo que apoya la prohibición estatal de seis semanas, que ahora ha sido firmada por el gobernador Henry McMaster.
